Standby! the jumpmaster yelled, as I looked out of the C-130 plane getting ready to jump out.
The earth looked so tiny. I jumped. The parachute opened and I landed safely. I did that >30 times. My joints took some damage among other things (over the period of 5 years). So I started taking collagen powder from vital proteins.
I never looked into the science of collagen powder. Does it actually do anything? or am I just feeding into this company worth $2 billion dollars.

Collagen Type II Benefits
Undenatured collagen shows Improvement in, Joint pain. Seen greatest in people with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Hydrolyzed, improves skin/heath appearance and reduces joint pain.
3 People who Process Collagen Differently
Vitamin C deficient: Don't have the building blocks to use or build collagen. Rare with <7% of the people being affected.
Gastric bypass: Not specific to collagen but absorption of nutrients, in general, is affected. This is due to the stomach and portion of the small intestine being bypassed.
Low Stomach Acid: Helps break down proteins and minerals so that they're easily absorbed into the body. Not making enough, you won't be able to digest collagen powder.
Collagen II Drawbacks
At doses of 10 grams, a day can increase oxalate levels in urine. Which would mean an increase in the risk of oxalate-based kidney stones. OUCH!
